Thread Name: Lyr Add: A Kiss from Wishaw Cross (Peter Nardini)
Subject: Lyr Add: A KISS FROM WISHAW CROSS (Peter Nardini)
I recently got these words for a Peter Nardini song. It seems to me that the words may be slightly different from the way I've heard it sung. Does anyone know it enough to check the lyrics? The last verse, I always heard sung ending "mind yersel'"

I don't have the CD, anyone else able to help?

Thanks
Steven

A KISS FROM WISHAW CROSS
B-flat

1. I thought you'd maybe write to me, to tell me how you've bin.
California's awful far away, like the distance tae the moon.
Santa Monica sounds alright. I bet it's nice and clean.
I thought about you all last night. I hope you've settled in.

CHORUS: I blew a kiss frae Wishaw Cross, to send my love to you.
Hamilton has nae really changed, and Larkhall's just as blue.
Ah still feel life's a battlefield, but you must feel brand new.
I blew a kiss frae Wishaw Cross. I hope my aim is true.

2. Scotland's getting cold again. It gets colder every year.
I bet you miss the sleet and rain, and wish that you were here.
Do you ever feel like coming back, coming back to stay?
Do you ever miss the sleet and rain? No, I don't suppose ye dae.

3. Do the stars come out in Hollywood? Do they sparkle night and day?
How come they always look so good? God, you're awful far away!
Are the streets of San Francisco like the streets of Motherwell?
Do you know how much we're missing you? Just be sure you watch yoursel'.
