What was really interesting was that my feeble attempts at translation weren,t too far off the mark. The only bit I really got stuck on was the bit about the wedding suit/wedding dress and the bit about the shortcut and the potatoes which I just didn't believe could possibly be right. This has given me great confidence in gaelic again after hitting a bit of a lull. My dad was a native gaelic speaker (sadly he died last year) and I've been trying to learn it SLOWLY so it seems things are beginning to pay off.
