"I Don't Feel No-Ways Tired" becomes "I Am Seeking For A City" in Dett, Religious Folk Songs..., p. 36-37.
A much simpler version appears in Allen, Slave Songs of the United States, # 90, p. 70, under the title "I Don't Feel Weary." (with tune)
I DON'T FEEL WEARY
Cho. I don't feel weary and no-ways tired, O glory hallelujah.
Jest let me in the Kingdom While the world is all on fire, O glory hallelujah.
Gwine to live with God forever, While the world is all on fire, O glory hallelujah.
And keep the ark a-moving, While the world is all on fire, O glory hallelujah.
The song seems to be a fragment. @religion @spiritual
The Cleveland Index suggests a similarity with Allen, "Don't be Weary, Traveler," p. 75, but except for the line "don't be weary," there is little in common. The Index also states that "I Don't Feel No Ways Tired" also appears in Penner, Prey, and Johnson (Green Pastures Spirituals).
