I've used the "I've suffered for my music..."one meself!
Another one we used to lob at audiences in a band I was in: "Amazing how potent cheap music can be, eh?"
And, introducing a fellow vocalist: "This is John - he's got Van Gogh's ear for music and Douglas Bader's dancing skills."
