I didn't pick up a guitar until August 1993, at the tender age of 48! I had been forced to learn a couple of songs by the Morris dancing side I had joined 2 years earlier, and whilst joining in the singing a couple of them said I had a good voice and should consider singing a solo. So in February of 1993 I sang 'Shoals of Herring' and 'Manchester Rambler' - both Ewan McColl songs at the sides dinner party, and although I was somewhat nervous I found the experience uplifting. It was fun! Seriously good fun!

Now 8 years later I am a singer songwriter with 2 tapes and one CD to my name, and I just love the joy of singing and playing. I have played at some of the bigger festivals in England, and even have a following of sorts I wish I'd have taken it up sooner now, but hey, it's seriously good fun.
