Thread Name: Pun filled song Yassur Arafat
Subject: RE: Pun filled song Yassur Arafat
I wrote the same song back a few years---only had to sing a few lines to make the point and then I'd go on to another short parody. Never did get very far into it at all...

"Yassur, he's my Arafat,
No, sir, I don't mean chicken fat,
Yah, sir, he's my Arafat now.

Then I might sing:

"I'm gonna sit right down and write myself a Bible,
And make believe it came from God..."

Then maybe:

"Once I did the wife of a millionaire..."

Then:

Richard Nixon's the name and I won every damn campaign,
Stonewalled congress's game and tore up the tapes again,
In the summer of '74 they were angry and demanding more,
By August 8th I had to tell
Because a tape can remember all too well...

On the night that they drove old Dickie down,
All the people were cheering
On the night that they drove old Dickie down,
Dan Rather was jeering,
He went "Naaaa naaaa na na na na...

Then:

"Yiddish is a loving tongue..."

and so on

and so on

It was a real schmaltzy song I thought.

Sorry, L. Rex----I was first. I've not had a gig since June 6th, 1997 and I sang it for at least 5 years before that---all over.
