Say goodbye, those of you who remember the 1972-74 UK pub rock scene, to Barry Richardson, founder and bass player of the seminal band of that era: "Bees Make Honey".Barry lived in Belgium since the early '80's and has been responsible for much fine music since then, with the country/rock band "Beeline" and guesting with the "Creole Shakers" and other jazz bands in the Capital of Europe. He lost his long and courageous fight with cancer on Christmas Day 2001.
Bassist, gutarist, saxophonist, singer/songwriter, marathon runner and a good friend of mine. A sad loss indeed. He's survived by his devoted wife Janet and sons Oisin and Jamie. A memorial service for Barry will be held on 2 February 2002 at St Andrew's Church, Brussels. Details on request.
"...do one thing for an old man won't you? Think of me sometimes...." (from Barry's song "Crossroads"). Goodbye, mate.
