Dear Jean,
Congratulations on your well-deserved honor. As so many others have said, no one deserves it more. I just wish I could be at that folk table to see you receive it. ($125 a plate, egads! Sounds more like Washington DC than Kentucky!) You have been such an inspiration to me and to so many others. And not just musically. I still remember my first Fox Hollow Festival, in 1972, when my musical heroine Jean Ritchie popped out of the door of her camper van and offered me, a complete stranger, some homemade tabbouleh and conversation. Jean, you are a great lady as well as a great musician. Much love to you and George -- and thanks, Jon, for sharing the great news. Kathy
