John.... please do pass on Castles in The Air, if you can....

Now... I've been trying the capo on strings A thru E on the second fret.... it isn't working, the 6th (now D) string sounds terrible... any idea what I'm doing wrong? I'm playing a D chord position, above the capo on fret 2.... what am I missing???
