Hee hee, this was fun. Yes, I have an ape-foot - the long bone that goes between ankle and big toe goes off on a strong angle because the anklebone to which it connects still thinks I ought to have a thumb down there, rather than a big toe. The problem is that nobody told the FOOT bone that it should belong to an ape, so it is formed as if I had a foot, so its cartilage on the ankle end wasn't actually between the foot and ankle bone. Therefore a) it didn't cushion that joint (not that I usually think of the middle of one's foot as a joint, but it is one - this "ankle" bone actually goes halfway down the foot) and b) all cartilage there has now vanished anyway, as unneeded. So now (after ## years with no cartilage in that joint) the foot bone has a big bulging deformation on its ankle end, that makes all shoes hurt (it's pointing up like a stalagmite, so any pressure on the top of my foot presses flesh onto basically one of those spikes for spindling forms). I had always been hard to fit for shoes, but only found out why recently!

I just thought it was very odd that I'd get all these music sites, and nothing about feet! Even Sorcha's helpful link didn't talk about my particular issue, which they want to fix by doing MAJOR reconstructive surgery on the foot and all I want is the spiky part removed...
