Dallas has a very nice chunk of forest along the Trinity River that a lot of people have been working to preserve. I have been meaning to go tour the area with a friend very active in the cause. I think the forest is at or below the Elm Fork intersection, but am not 100% certain. But it's too late to say don't drink the water--there is a branch that of the Trinity that runs through the middle of Fort Worth.

Amon Carter, owner of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram for many years, had a bone to pick with "Dullest." He was so intent on competing with Dallas that he even refused to spend money for lunch when he had to go there. He took a sack lunch. Dallas has Fair Park and the Cotton Bowl, but Carter got Fort Worth Casa MaƱana and the Will Rogers Exposition Center.
