Familiar stoties:by the time I was at secondary school I was classified as a "growler" and weeded out from any choirs! My wife had a similar experience. Fortunately at Scout camps we were encouraged to sing/shout and I lost my inhibitions th' she will only sing along when we're alone in the car.
