I can sympathize with Clinton on this. I have a Tru-Tone system fitted on my Martin and as well as the battery being inaccessible, the tone and volume controls are also real fiddly to get at, being inside the soundhole.

My nest instrument will have a "Highlander" system with external preamp, like Martin Simpson uses.
