Hi Bard, If it's your first trip to europe then Scotland will just blow you away...especially if you have some free time to explore on your own.Do you know where you are going to be based yet,or where your family came from? I had to laugh at the posts from GUESTjim,because they really do reflect the attitude you are likely to encounter over there... but i'm pleased to see that you seem to have a philosophical attitude to the 'christian' aspect of the journey. If i had one chance to visit Scotland i would go to the NW coast(ardnamurchan,glenuig,arisaig,eigg,plockton and so on up to about ullapool)...and i say that after living and travelling in Scotland for 30-odd years of my life.
