Lucius: The only version, such as you describe, that I've ever heard is on tape... but it's videotape: There was an episode of the old Dick Van Dyke show from the early 1960s in which he, Mary Tyler Moore, Morey Amsterdam and Rose Marie (Richard Deacon also, I think [the actor who played Mel Cooley]) performed the song in marching-band costumes.
