I have family in Warwickshire, and we spend a few weeks every August in a combination of visiting family/friends & "mediaevalising" (I work in an arms & armor museum & like to get up to friends & colleagues at Leeds as well). last year we were able to get down to Sidmouth, and had such great fun that I hope to make a repeat visit, and possibly get to Whitby for a bit as well, depending on specifics!
