Before you look to the US, well, Jack Lynch and Charlie Haughey funded the arming of the Provisional IRA, Fine Gael (an anti-Republican party which grew out of the pre-1921 loyalists) is the only party allied to Hitler which never underwent a change of structure and leadership after the war, we wont even go into the actions of supporters of the Loyalists...
