Subject: RE: Anybody know 'Galway Shawl'?
George, the Foggy Dew is one of the titles mentioned in the lyrics of the Galway Shawl. BrĂan said The Galway Shawl had to be after the Easter Uprising because it mentions the Foggy Dew, and I replied that there are songs older than the Easter uprising that are called the Foggy Dew, including songs that have different melodies than the rebel Foggy Dew.

"I played the Blackbird, and the Stack O' Barley,
Rodney's Glory, and the Foggy Dew
And she sang each note, like an Irish linnet
While the tears stood in her lovely eyes of blue.
