From what I have heard of Ireland from John Waltham [a fine trad singer from Dorset who now has a home in Donegal as well]in a lot of Irish pubs sing arounds can start at the drop of a hat. I was in a pub in England and started talking an Irish couple about Ireland and music in general that turned into a great night, the same thing happened in a pub in a pub I visited in Glen Afric? Scotland.
