I think this is (or part of it) is printed in the front of a book by John Masefield, about smugglers in or near Rye in Sussex, about a boy and a smuggler called Mara. Or am I mixing it up with some other book. Its many years since I read it. Thanks anyway for reminding me of a supper book and poem.
