Come on! The fricking thing has been continuous since at least Cromwell's time! You can make some kind of argument for Britain and NATO, but I think most people in Northern Ireland, and the British as well, are heartily sick of the troubles and want them to end. You've got a full compliment of thugs and murderers on both sides who are more than willing to put innocent people in the crossfire for the good of Ireland, and playing the game of "our thugs aren't as responsible" is hard to swallow.
