As far as I remember, I knew this as a Rugby song in the 1960's, not a folk song.

As for tune, I don't know the name of it, but it is the same as the one used for 'Keep that wheel a-turning' (is that the real name of the song?).

And the first line went

'Mary from the Mountain Glen'
