Hey, guys, don't be so hard on the British! They have won virtually every war they have ever fought...your War of Independece in the 13 colonies being about the only notable exception, I believe...and they lost that partly because France used its Navy very effectively on the behalf of the American revolutionaries (specially at the battle of Yorktown).

They also burned Washington down in the War of 1812, defeated numerous attempted invasions of Canada, and effectively blockaded the USA for the duration, so it's very misleading to imply they "lost" that one...it was a stalemate.

However, jimlad is also being unfair toward us North Americans, in my opinion. If he had his way, I would have to give up my Patton tank and turn in my 75mmm artillery pieces too in all probability, to say nothing of my machine guns and shoulder-launch anti-aircraft missiles. He's a dangerous bloody radical, if you ask me... :-)
