Barry, I truly sympathize with your friend, but in over 32 years of professional performing / flying, I've never had an instrument lost or broken. Cross fingers!! I recommend Calton Cases (I'm not paid by the company to promote their cases, I wish I were!). But check the instument and forget it. Until you arrive.
