Thread Name: BS: Quiz - People and Songs/Tunes
Subject: Quiz - People and Songs/Tunes
Here's a quiz with sort of cryptic clues. In each case, the answer is a person and a related song or tune. Some of them are easy and some less straightforward. For those that aren't quickly answered, you might want to collaborate in the thread.

Also, any further information about the people, songs, tunes etc. will make things more interesting.

I'll drop in now and again to help (if needed) and to summarise the state of play.

HERE IT IS ...

1. Bill's chronometric stone disk helped UK folk music to get its glad rags on.

2. Tom's dad played this tune, and it was under a greenwood tree ... though it's old, it's a military pleasure.

3. A honeyed conundrum from Ralph.

4. Paddy's just a name that Doctor R. used, when he was adulterating the brew for the proletariat.

5. Hibernia blooms for Roy ... but never since 1314.

6. Robert thought that turning on the light would be useless ... He won't think again.

7. Mr. Kipling might make beautiful cakes, but only Peter could bring Danny back to life for him.

8. Hugh and Mona involved in a great tragedy. She got sunk and never came back.

9. Waiting for a train could be quite a hazard for Jean. She could be there for some time.

10. Sir Hugh is sailing back to the island of malts.

Good Luck!
