Thanks for clarification Nigel. My point is: what is "friendly fire"? Is it oxymoron (combination of contradictory or incongruous words); irony (intended meaning is the opposite of that of the words used); or euphemism (substitution of mild or innocuous wordfor more harsh or offensive term)? Or some combination of all three?
