The tune I know to it is a slow waltz - hardly a Shanty rhythm, I would have thought. I'm trying to think who it was who wrote the words. I'm pretty sure that I first heard it sung by either Johnny Collins or Jim Magean. The line "One more pull, now" occurs in many shanties and of course there is a shanty called "Only one more day".
