When I started my first statistics subject at Uni the lecturer asked "Who here has a ticket in Gold Lotto (that's our lottery)?" About half the class put their hands up.

Then he said "Who doesn't have a ticket in Gold Lotto?" Most of the rest of the class put their hands up (there are always some who won't commit themselves!).

And the lecturer said "I'm sure you'll be glad to know you all have an almost equal chance of winning."
