HERE IT IS,HROTHGAR.VERY SIMPLY THERE WAS A MILKMAN IN COTTINGHAM WHO HAD TWO HORSES, ONE CALLED JUDY AND SUPRISE THE OTHER WAS CALLED PUNCH.WE DID NOT HAVE A NAME AT THE TIME, AND HAD OUR FIRST PAYING GIG. JOHN SMITH ONE OF THE ORIGINAL MEMBERS OF THE BAND, LIVED IN COTTINGHAM AND KNEW THE MILKMAN AND THE HORSES.
WE LIKED THE NAME AND HAVE USED IT EVER SINCE.
SOME BEIGE PERSON ONCE OFFERED US LOTS OF MONEY TO PLAY AT A RACE COURSE,THE CONDITION WAS THAT WE CHANGED THE NAME OF THE BAND, AS THE ORGANISOR THOUGHT IT WOULD UPSET THE PUNTERS.
WE KINDLY TOLD HIM TO GO FORTH AND MULTIPLY.
