Kim: Yup, you're right; that Twilight Zone episode was indeed called "The Eye of the Beholder". Oddly, the role of the woman having the operations was played by two people. I can't find the name of the first actress right now (the one wrapped in bandages), but the story goes that that actress was supposed to dub the voice for the second actress (the unwrapped one at the end of the show). The second actress, however, did such a good impression of the first one's husky voice that it was left on the soundtrack. The second actress's name: Donna Douglas (Elly May on "The Beverly Hillbillies")!!

A couple of other classic TZ episodes: "Time Enough at Last" with Burgess Meredith as the nearsighted survivor of the H-bomb blast, who wanted only time enough to read, and was just about to settle down with a book in the ruined library when he broke his glasses... and "To Serve Man", the title of the book belonging to the Kanamits, 9-foot-tall aliens who visited Earth offering goodwill and taking humans back to their home planet (which seemed harmless enough when only the book's title had been translated... but the humans translate the rest of the book too late: it's a cookbook!).
