Absolutely right - Lonnie changed the world. In the mid to late 50s, if you were a teenager who wanted to play music you had to buy an expensive instrument like a trumpet or clarinet and then spend an eternity learning to play it. Along came Lonnie and showed that with a guitar (using just three chords)plus a tea chest bass and a wash board, you could have an instant band. Thousands of us did just that and most quickly realised that not only could you play songs likwe the Midnight Special using this formula, you could also play the new Elvis Presley and Buddy Holly stuff that was just coming in.
