can this be the SAME "morning glory" plant (purpley-blue flower) that is DEVASTATING huge areas of our native vegetation in SE Queensland (Australia) by choking?????? (Ipomoea indica, family Convolvulacae)

I can STILL be moved by Judy Collins' version of Hattie Carroll (the only one I ever heard ...)
