It's always worth taking a look at the Public Domain Music site that Jim posted the URLs for. Benjamin Robert Tubb has done admirable work, transcribing lyrics and tunes from 19th-century songwriters like Foster and Work.
Can't say I like some his MIDI arrangements all that much, but at least they give you a good idea what the song sounds like.
