When I first came to sunny Queensland to live I was suckered in by NOTHROUGH ROAD. I readily admit I thought it was pronounced No-thruff for a little while until I realised how many of them there were. Reminds me that my wife was also puzzled in Germany by all the autobahn signs pointing to AUSFAHRT, which didn't appear anywhere on the map she was using.
