"Cnoc Chéin Mhic Cáinte is named after Cian, son of Cáinte, of Irish mythology. It tells of a lover's pleading with a loved one to flee with him. The present name of the spot is Killen, about two miles north of Dundalk, County Louth." Peadar Ó Doirnín biography Ó Doirnín wrote the words;Annraoi says the air was written later (than the words) by P. O Dubhda.
The hill of Cian the son of Cáinte isn't a great title. As non-native speakers of Gaelic, the Irish sounds more attractive! I hate amateur phonetics, so liable to lead one astray, but I'll make a stab at it for your sake, Banjo Johnny: ur croc kane vic kyntch-eh (kynt to rhyme with pint)
