Hmmm... Sounds to me like the local honey is a homeopathic remedy -- it's the "local" that's the tip-off the honey would have traces of the local pollen in it, I presume, or would have the same protiens as the pollen that triggers your allergies, so I guess this would be nature's version of "allergy shots"...though if you drink it, it has a different meaning to the word 'shot'.
When I was first diagnosed with asthma, we invested in an air filter machine and it helped greatly. The house I grew up in was big, and the only "air conditioning" in the summer was to open all the windows and run fans. But I ran the air filter in my bedroom and kept the door closed. And at least, that way, I could breath easier at night.
Could you do something like that, and have at least one room just for yourself?
