NEW FLASH! Someone has dug up another stunning Stewart banjo; check out image showing the mozaic of inlayed woods on the inside rim:

"Just uncovered from the back of the attic an S. S. Stewart Banjeaurine Banjo with Mother of Pearl inlays in ebony, hand carved body, fantastic wood inlay around the inside rim. Made in Philadelphia, Pat'd Jan 11, 1887. Of course it needs a new skin, 3 pieces of the MOP are missing, there is an old repair (seen in photo of carved body), needs new strings. All of the parts are present and accounted. Comes with original case in fair condition. Measures 28" long, 13" diam., 15" neck."
