I like IanB's take on this in the first post. The excitement comes from the clarity and the intensity of the fingerpicking chosen for your particular rendition and your chosen chord structure. Both songs are more complx in chord structure than a typical 3 chord blues---and good picking will definitely enhance the presentation--make it more impactful.

Also------for a different take on both songs, try to work out an arrangement on a jew's harp. I think it'd be fascinating !!! ;-)
