I started off supporting Argentina (it's not the English people or players I've anything against, it's the media, the smarmy Motson types) but soon switched allegiance when I saw the ruthless, cynical way they played from the kick-off. I'm not religious but I was actually praying that Beckham would stick the penalty away. The team was magnificent, inspirational: congrats. My English son in law, out in Pusan at present, will be over the moon and my Scottish daughter, out there with him, will be over it for his sake. Ireland for the cup tho!
