Boy, passport checking can be a strange process. I've crossed the border at least a hundred times in the last four or five years and never needed it. When Heather travels with me, she's usually asked about her status (landed immigrant) and that's it. One time last year while crossing at Detroit, we were both hauled in and fortunately I keep the passports in the glove compartment. Got the full treatment... lots of computer checking, and looking at photos...an hour and a half's worth....even had to state my Mother's maiden name(!) Thank goodness I remembered it.Rick
