I have old tape of Bill Staines songs given to me by a friend and it has a song that is just beautiful that I need help sorting out. I believe Bill wrote it ... it tells the story of a man at his camp fire, remembering an old love, the chorus is in Spanish .... the first verse (in English) says,

By my dyin' fire tonight
I see your face withn the light
It smiles and fades
like fleeting shadows on the ground
and the river running near
brings back a song I used to hear
when we were one and danced the streets of Spanish Town.
