Thread Name: Song Challenge! - Part 84
Subject: RE: SONG CHALLENGE! - Part 84
This has got to be the corniest entry I've ever offered, by a mile. I have two friends who are dependent on Seeing Eye dogs, and I wanted to mention something about what a love relationship it can be. It's hard to do that without getting schmaltzy.

Sweet Rosie the Pony
(Tune = Sweet Rosie O'Grady, by Maude Nugent)

Just around the corner in the town of Ellensburg
Resides the strangest household of which I have ever heard
There's Cherry King and Jenny Calhoun and all their stock and pets
They're the wildest, weirdest, strangest gang that we've encountered yet

CHORUS:
Sweet Rosie the Pony, she's his Seeing Eye.
It may sound like baloney, but no, this is no lie
When Cherry goes walking, just between you and me
He takes Sweet Rosie the Pony, 'cuz Rosie the Pony can see!

They have dogs and goats and chickens, and also the odd macaw
The little goat called Fat Butt is popular local draw
But Rosie is the favorite, she'd four-footed, two feet high
With her racy lacy panties and her tail, well, it's to die

CHORUS

When Cherry goes to town to buy his groceries and goods
Rosie walks him everywhere, just like a guide dog would
She takes him to the crosswalk and through traffic without harm
In spite of all the heads that turn, in amazement and alarm

CHORUS

They all ride in to town sometimes in the family's old sedan
Rosie sits in the back seat with the window for a fan
Well, Rosie she can read the signs like Wait and Stop and Go
Cherry and Jenny, they taught her all she knows

CHORUS

With her blanket and her harness and her panties she's all dressed
While her love and heart and talent are hiding in her breast
Her home is like a circus, but everyone's her friend
And that's the house in Ellensburg, just around the bend.
