Oh, and Alice. There are plenty of thoughtful and positive games on the market. The Kings Quest series is non-violent and helps kids use their puzzle-solving skills. Other good games are Civilization,the Monkey Island series,Heroes of Might and Magic( which offers battle sequences that are fun but lack graphic violence),Age of Empires, Battleground Gettysburg (and any of the other Battleground games),and many others.
