I notice that this song in the DT does have the author's name.... I thought the Mudcat was keen on making sure that a song's writer was given due credit. I notice too that it has "Irish" as a search item. This is nonsense. The German American Thomas Westerndorf who wrote this song did it for his wife who was missing the Black Forest in Germany where she was born.
