Well, I can't say much about that parched, dusty, overcrowded southern part of the state. Here in beautiful Northern California, the place to check for folk music festival information is the San Francisco Folk Music Club. The "First Annual California Folk Festival" was held here in the Sacramento area on Mother's Day weekend, so you missed that one - it was very nice. You also missed the San Francisco Free Folk Festival, which is held in mid-June.
Now, one festival that's yet to come is the Cotati Accordion festival. The closing event is legendary - hundreds of accordions playing "Lady of Spain."
