Hmm. Mebbe so. But just 'cause someone is a "one hit wonder" doesn't necessarily mean they were not very well known. Just looking at the Fifties, both Julie London and Caterina Valente were very familiar names. My impression is that they spent a lot of time on the charts (Julie London in particular), even if their stuff didn't make it to the top. Caterina Valente was a frequent guest on a number of TV variety shows. Bein' a "one hit wonder" ain't no disgrace.
