Does anyone remember the Blaster Bates story about white "dog doos"? He was an freelance explosives expert in the UK ( 50s-60s) and was called out once by the police as a householder had found some " white sticks" in the coal, and they thought it was "unexploded gelignite" he had already picked it up when he saw the family's Great Dane!!!!
