I've mentioned here before, as Pat probably has taken note of, that when I was on the Mississippi R. singing, an entire tow went aground on a sandbar. The barges were filled not with canaries but with pigeons. Those tows always had a deckhand on board who was expert with a bullwhip. He would crack his whip enough times to get the birds flying. That would most certainly lighten the load, the tow would reverse it's screws and the whole mass of barges would get unstuck from the grounding. This was one of those pretty well-known pigeon tows that some pediatrists treat.

Judy and Dennis, It was great having you stop by on your last music tour to the wild west. Folks, Judy is alluding to a friend of mine who, when quite drunk, kept bothering a woman at a party. He kept yelling, "Do lemons have legs?"---and right in her ear. Finally she told him, "Listen you sot, I'll tell you this one time only. Lemons do NOT have legs !! He walked away telling her, "Oh, then I must've just squeezed your canary into my drink."

(Pat will now note where and when I previously posted this tale.)

Thanks again for the b-day greetings----but I've never figured out how to use one o' those particular bathroom fixtures.
