A lot of teenagers are getting into folk music through Village Harmony - choral camp followed by a brief tour. They do a lot of shape note and gospel, as well as (for example) African and Eastern European music. They encourage a lot of talented kids, many of who grow into talented young adults.

As for myself, I may no longer qualify as young - at least not that young - although those who remember me as a kid and then teenager in the Folklore Society of greater Washington will probably always see me as a young folk!
