Welcome to the Mudcat, Fred. Would love to hear more about your dad and also about what you like to play, tune/song-wise. I've got a son who lives just across the river from Louisville (KY). We also have a Mudcatter there who was renovating an old theatre, downtown, and booking some great folk musicians for gigs there.

Deda, that must be a fairly new thing, pronouncing Louisville (CO)that way. I've never heard my Colorado born and raised relatives ever pronounce it that way and my grandparents homesteaded near there. At least among our Colorado natives it has always been Loo-ah-vill or Loo-ee-vill. It's funny, now that my son has been in KY/IN so long, the way he says it sounds as if he's got marbles in his mouth so it comes out kind of like Loo-vuhl. *bg*
